Cat Nap turns your iPhone into a purring cat, with soothing purr sounds and synced haptics. You can even record your own cat’s purr and feel custom vibrations built from its unique sound.
Getting started
Tap the large button to start and stop the purr. Use the cat icon (top-left) to switch between Kitten, Cat, Big Cat, or your own cat. Use the gear icon (top-right) for settings and your purchase.
Using your own cat (My Cat)
Tap the cat icon, choose “Add your cat,” then record a short clip or upload an audio file. Cat Nap analyzes the recording on your device and builds custom haptics synced to it. You can rename or remove your cat anytime from the settings screen. Your own cat’s purr is free to preview; a one-time purchase removes the preview limit.
Controls
Intensity adjusts the strength of the purr. Sound can be turned on or off independently of the haptics. The auto-stop timer stops the purr automatically after a set time, which is handy for falling asleep.
Siri, Shortcuts, and Control Center
You can start or stop the purr with Siri (“Make my cat purr”) and through the Shortcuts app. On iOS 18 and later, you can add a Cat Nap toggle to Control Center or your Lock Screen.
Troubleshooting
I don’t feel any vibration.
Haptics require a physical iPhone (they don’t work in previews or on iPad). Make sure “System Haptics” is on in Settings > Sounds & Haptics, and that Low Power Mode is off, as it can reduce haptics. Haptics will only play while the app is open, since the operating system stops haptics when any app is running in the background.
I don’t hear any sound.
Check that “Sound” is turned on in the app, raise your device volume, and make sure your device isn’t muted.
I bought the upgrade but it’s not unlocked.
Open the gear icon and tap “Restore Purchase.” Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase.
My recording didn’t work.
Cat Nap needs microphone permission to record. You can enable it in Settings > Cat Nap > Microphone. You can also upload an existing audio file instead.
Privacy
Cat Nap processes and stores your cat’s audio entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded or shared.
